Part of the reason the US has no major real enemies is the large defense budget ;-).

The weapons exporting business is still big, but look at the real prices - look at the deal Poland for buying F-16s.

Poland does have some historically valid worries with regard to her two friends, Russia and Germany.

I think if the deal was properly netted out the Poles get the planes for free and over 1 Billion in present value.
