CB,
You are meeting all the wrong Jews. Are you making this stuff up? If this had happened to me I would be upset too. My parents were religious and i went to public school and brought many non-jewish friends home. Yes there were separate plates depending on whether meat/dairy was being served. No separate plates for anyone else. I swear.
When I was growing up in the early 50s Jews were very wary of non-jews. This was right after WW2 and Jews probably never felt as insecure as they did then. And of course there had been anti-semitism in the US, particulary in the period leading up to the war where US "isolationists" tried their best to blame the upcoming war on Jews. I need to stop this rant too. We have traded insults for no reason. YOu have misunderstood each and every word of my last posts. For instance when i said look at the map, i was talking only of geography, not power. And is Sharon my hero, certainly not. Am i a zionist--no. Do i support all Israel does, no. Will i support them it they kill as many Hamas activists as they can, Yup. Mike

"I used to live with a Jewish guy from New York. "

Poor guy! Or your choice of men you dated is off kilter. After your "go to hell" comment, I now understand why his family gave you different plates. Actually they should have had you eating off the floor.

Why do Jews hate the "road map"? It's no worse that what the Israelis agreed to, years ago.

Because it repeats all the mistakes of Oslo, except that this time, the terrorists aren't even pretending to be "peace partners". Except for Abu Mazen, but as he keeps telling us, he's helpless and has no desire to start a Palestinian civil war.
