What do we suppose Bush is really telling sharon today?

Damn good question. I have to believe that Bush would love to see Hamas destroyed as an organization due to its militant resemblance to Al-Qaeda (and likelihood that its allied with them)...

But Bush CANNOT be seen as approving of its destruction lest he be seen as an Israeli lackey.

What was interesting is how Sharon came out and effectively voiced its support for Abbas and Dahlan, but asserted that they currently lack the ability to tackle Hamas and de-fang them. Thus, in effect, Sharon is doing Abbas's "wet work" in removing Hamas leadership. And I'm sure, at some level, Abbas is greatful for the assistance in destroying a threat to his power base.

Of course, neither Abbas nor Sharon cannot be seen as being in league in the decapitation of Hamas, but they both share a common interest in removing this barrier to a peace resolution. And the Aqaba summit forced Hamas, AAMB, and Islamic Jihad to show their TRUE agenda, namely the destruction of Israel.

I'm of the belief that Israel will continue, and possibly escalate decapitation strikes against Hamas, possibly even against Yassin eventually. At the very least, while radicalizing their members, it will set up internal power struggles within their organizations as individuals fight amongst one another to replace their fallen leaders.

And your theory regarding the Hashemites leaving Jordan and making that a Palestinian state is certainly an interesting one... I believe it would be ideal, but the devil is obviously in the details..
