Don't understand your strategy. If you sell pre-dividend,
you lose 6.5 cents plus 3 cents out and 3 cents back in,
for 12.5 cents for the swing trade. Do you think that
from your sell price to your buy price there will be a
spread greater than 12.5? At 12.5 you break even if you
call the buy and sell perfectly. Even beyond that you'll
have to be nimble unless there's a significant drop with
lots of room for margin.

i sold my gib.a today at 8.32. didn't like the way the
stock has spiked on a rumour then was unable to hold its
price. could have got back in at 8.17 on a perfect call.
woulda been 32-17 = 15 -6 cents = 9 cent profit but i
seldom call tops and bottoms. not that good or lucky
consistently. An AVN.UN sell would have been better with
a 40 cent spread. got to sit glued to the screen though
hitting the refresh button.

NS and RUS both have been doing okay lately. look like
they'll make a decent capital gain. RUS also pays 7 cents
a quarter. Wonder, though, if it's time to start building
cash. Could be a big drop across the indexes come Sept.
