Myth:

LOL!!

Well the gods have smiled on this "short" little sparrow. Had a nice pass on UAL and then got real lucky on "Air Can't" (which has driven the Canuck shorts nuts with expensive buy-ins day after day). Managed to stay the course and got appropriately rewarded this a.m., when the company came out and stated what everybody ought to have known,..... which is that the impending bankruptcy proceeding would likely see the common stock end up with "minimal value" (see my rant on this and the other airline stocks of a few days ago). Even though it got smacked hard, I will add more to the position tomorrow as it has a long way yet to fall.

AMR and Delta are in precisely the same boat and are even better targets as their share prices are in never-never land, yet they have no choice but to go through the same bankruptcy procedures if they want to be competitive with those that have already "emerged". AMR is at $9.00 (up from a recent low near a buck), courtesy of some of the N.Y. houses recommending them. Never look a gift airline in the mouth under such delightful circumstances. (g)

Best, Earlie
