The most important thing that a teacher can teach a child is to develop a curious and inquisitive mind.

Nature/Nurture, BP? I think that is genetic. The best grammar school teacher I ever has was a Tennessee country girl, no more than a HS Grad at best, who pulled her best 2nd grade readers into a separate group and let them compete against each other in reading a book. First one through won a cap pistol.

Best Post Grad was a Physics PHD who taught me how to structure my thinking when reading History so that I would know what was important and what wasn't.

You can beat curiosity out of a kid, but you can't teach it, IMO.
