john- frank stronach is somewhat of a folk hero in canada. he immigrated from austria with nothing, zilch, nada. his success in large part was in keeping the unions out of his shop. he offered his employees profit sharing and it worked - for them and for him. about ten or so years ago he launched a magazine called VISTA and we repped it on the west coast. during the launch party, we handed out media kits of the magazine to the guests together with an ounce of silver. it would have taken five years for the magazine to turn the profit corner but magna ran into difficulties and he had to pull the plug before then. too bad. it was a great magazine. but he made a come back and more. some people just have the knack. rose
