Its value is being shown by identifying those who try to block it, and the next step is to find a way around the blockage. Arafat cannot afford to tell the Palestinians not to attack Israel or he would probably be killed by the Terrorist groups in his own country. The Hamas, as soon as they heard of the plan, bravely decided to show they were the most terrible of the 3 groups in Palestine and blocked the road Arafat says he has nothing to do with it. Abbas says he cannot or wont control them although he would like (?) to. Therefore the Hamas is brightly illuminated on the western stage as the blockage and will be removed. If a detour could be found around them , its obvious they would block that also. This is a war on terrorists and the Hamas are about as bad as any. Except they are only at this time attacking Israel. Assume for a moment they hated the French instead, and wanted to eliminate all Frenchmen, and were sending suicide bombers to Paris every day. Ruining the economy, killing and maiming citizens and visitors, driving away tourists. And no matter what happens, their position is the same, all Frenchmen must go. Would anyone here blame the French for trying to destroy them ? Would we support the French if they needed help? Can the UN do anything to help? I would expect some kind of action, rather than words, is now being discussed and planned among as many countries as are willing to do so among those who developed and support the Roadmap. There is a great deal the Palestinians could do if they were serious- tap the cell-phones, cut off their explosives supplies, give the Israelis their location. But thats still not enough, either their attitude changes (fat chance there) or they have to go Sig@goodbyehamas.com .
