I thought maple wood was valuable for making furniture, no?

We were thinking of planting some pecan trees for the nuts and wood.

Bill/WA,

Tell your son to contact a few wood/lumber processing companies...check for them on the web. There's usually a few in whatever area that will pay good money for large hardwood trees. They normally will contract with a land owner and cut the trees and haul them away. A good thick cherry and others can bring four figures.

My brother owns some land in the boonies outside of Albany (NY) and he has trees cut periodically and sells them to a forest products company for decent $.
