Re: I think if the real truth was known about what the Republicans do to the average person, any Democratic
challenger would win in a landslide in 2004. The problem
is getting the true facts out.

Getting the fact out....

Examining the flap over child tax credits, I believe that if Americans understood what Rep. Tom Delay is attempting here, they would be outraged, as I am.

W/R/T the child tax credit for the working poor, the DeLay scheme is to lard about $80 Billion in un-paid for pork for the rich into the bill. This contrasts to the sensible plan that Sens. Blanche Lincoln and Charles Grassley created that cost about $4 Billion and was paid for.

DeLay is, in essence, going to hold the tax relief for the poor as a hostage for further demands for extravagant tax give-away to the fat cats.

He hopes that either the Senate caves in conference, or stonewalls the House, giving the fascists like DeLay a campaign slogan for 2004, claiming that the evil Dems in the Senate were the culprits in failing to pass the bill out of conference. It is legislative sleaziness and hard right blackmail at its essence.

DeLay needs to be exposed to the world for the manipulative and self-dealing scoundrel he truly is.
