Carl is, historically, pretty conservative. His discontent with Bush is purely war related. Anyway, this "you're political, and I'm not" crap is patently ridiculous in the FADG context. This thread has been politicized from the very beginning, and mostly by the fans of Bush administration propaganda. A personal turning point for me was the post-2002 election gloating. Rove certainly played the war card most excellently then, but that was hardly something that could be considered honorable in any conventional sense of the word. Good enough for the local warheads, though.

Hi Hawkmoon; Re: "And now your TRUE personal political bias penetrates the veil of your rhetoric. If you don't like Bush, just say so."

I voted for Bush. I'm an honest to God, right winger. I don't have anything personal for Bush, but I despise what he has done. More people will join my position as time goes by. Here are some Bilow quotes from before Bush earned my enmity:

...
The impeachment [of Clinton] was completely peaceful and legal, as well as justified. ... I am serious, lying in court is a high crime. But Democrats are always able to justify whatever feels good as being moral, even if it isn't legal.
...
Now Gore is going to be president, and he is too stupid to concentrate on his zipper.

Of the three counties, Dade is only about 11% of the total. It is likely that Broward is big enough just by itself, Dade was never needed, and was included only to give a margin of victory. Consequently, the Democrats can safely let the Dade recount stop, and at the same time, falsely accuse mainstream Republicans of using strong arm tactics. #reply-14879928

Hi Zeev Hed; Maybe you forgot this, but Clinton's committed perjury with far more than denying having sex with Monica. He also lied about many other things. I seem to recall in particular, statements about the nature of his relationship with Monica, statements about whether they had ever been alone in the oval orifice together, statements about her gifts to him and statements about his job search for her. The guy was knee deep in perjury.
Here's a listing by an apologist for the jerk, along with an explanation of why it wasn't perjury (Haha!):

The other thing to remember here is that Clinton is a lawyer and a leader and as such, has to be held to higher standards than the usual, not lower standards.

The latest ruling simply says that Gore didn't have enough votes shown uncounted to make the full manual recount worthwhile. In short, Gore just didn't have the votes.

Hi Scumbria; Re Bush not being a genius...
For his job, he doesn't have to be a genius. In fact, the more the guy thinks he's a genius, the more dangerous he is in that position. For what we want him, he needs to do very little. Just schmooze with the leaders of the rest of the world, every now and then preempt TV programming with dull speeches, but don't rock the boat with a lot of "brilliant" legislation.

By contrast, Al Gore wrote a book with a set of precepts that, if followed, would result in disasters for our economy, and, through secondary effects, even our environment.

If it really were a matter of the president seriously effecting the history of the country, then go ahead and worry. But all your examples are showing are bad syntax and grammar. Not a big deal. Take a good look back through your own posts, for instance. Surely you have garbled syntax at least once, and you have the advantage of being able to (1) type your comments in, editing them carefully, and (2) modifying them for 15 minutes. The president doesn't have that ability.

If Bush was a genius, the left wing would be a lot more scared than they are. (And a good portion of the right wing too, for that matter.) His daddy used English about the same way, but he was quite effective at putting together a military alliance in the Persian gulf. That's the kind of emergency that we need presidents for, they are not used as members of a high school debate team.
