Well Jesus did say that those who turned Him over to Pilate have a greater condemnation than Pilate. The Christian Church started out as all Jewish, but only because it was Jews who were preaching Jesus to other Jews and it was natural for Jews to keep to themselves. They were a separate people. So Jews were being saved, many thousands of them. But God wanted the whole world to hear the Gospel so He used the Romans to disperse the Jews and He struck Israel and we know that as the great dispersion. Now 2,000 years later He re-eastablished Israel (in 1948) for His own purposes. To carry out the events of the last days before Jesus returns.
