Do you think that the government could step in and try to subsidize the workers in some (hidden) way in order to try to prevent the unraveling that seems so inevitable?

After all, they're pretty desperate to hold the economy together until after Bush wins re-election.....

American Airlines did it but they had good reasons and leverage. Big 3 don't have them. In fact officially everything is great in auto industry. I just don't see unions to give in. Do you?
