Two excellent articles, thanks - but I'm left with the disturbing conclusion that the American people are getting exactly the kind of government they want and deserve. When they turn to a professional manipulator (i.e. any politician) and say please, please lie to me so I can feel better, guess what happens..... Perhaps GWB will be the antithesis of Watergate, a moment in history when Americans lose their capacity for outrage. Now that's depressing.
