BubbaFred, I just watched the Diego Garcia segment on 60 Minutes. I first made a study of the Empire's fire base in the aftermath of 9/11. I happened onto a website that was maintained by a Navy enlisted man who had previously been stationed there. Mentioning the fate of the indigenous peoples who had been treated so shabbily on the website's board elicited a vast firestorm of vitriol aimed as me as an anti-American. There is a portion of the U.S. military that has completely lost any touch with the realities of what this nation was founded upon. Instead, the military, at least in some arenas, has been completely transformed into the Evil Empire, and is perfectly willing to crush any dissent at home or abroad.
