My picture of the future is bar codes and chips everywhere. In tires, cars, license plates, in restaurant silverware and towels, in kids shoes. Use to find misplaced tools at home. Radio emitting chips.Tools and inventory in factories.Trucks and railroad cars.

Minimal cost chips, as there are plenty of 6 in and 8 inch wafer plants or machines being surplused.

Now to find a company that is willing to let the shareholders make some progress.
And actually Dell may be the one- as you know they have gone to scanners, card readers for checkout counters, price marking devices ,wireless hand-helds for warehouse inventory. That business is not mentioned much in their reports, but fits logically when they are selling computers for the checkout counters. .
