The real problem with the world economy is that it needed and needs to change from a heavy industry energy based to a form with a smaller footprint on the environment and distribution channels. That process was beginning in the enlightened administration of the 1990s. Junior turned back the clock to a time of tarrifs and protections for manufacturers (which only lasted until they could find a buyer and cash out). The rise and collapse of the stock market was a magnified reflection of the underlying economy, it was not the cause of it. TP
