he's behind the Davis recall effort. On the radio I heard that the democratic party plans to focus on his anti-abortion record, which means he is toast before he gets started. No, it means that's the best the party can come up with to defend Davis. Since his approval rating among his own party's voters is only 38%, the party must've concluded that trying to defend him on his record is a hopeless cause and could backfire on the entire state party. All they have left, then, is to attack his opponents on issues that have nothing to do with the recall. BTW, I had no idea until I read today's WSJ that during Davis's first term, CA tax revenues grew by 28%, but spending grew by 36%. Who cares if one of the recall activists is anti-abortion? You should be pissed at Davis and the legislative power brokers. Surely you can find some social moderates who will be responsible with your money.
