If you still have your system restore points...

The computer takes a little longer to boot up and stuff, that is OK and normal. All the uninstall and install activity you did recently will have been negated. The restore facility is an excellent tool for the uninstall problems you describe if it's still functioning.

You should be able to get your problem fixed, I think one of your players (Real player) is re setting as the "default" system. Look in options and see if you can change this after you are sure you restored your system OK. I don't use Real Player, so I cannot check for you.

Look for any other replies to your question that may be more informed..

rgds,

What version Media Player are you having problems with? If it's version 9 you can't do a normal uninstall. I agree with Pearly Button on the stealing of the default player. Look under Real Player view/preferences for a setting making Real the default media player and uncheck it.
