Iraqi citizens are being required to turn in their weapons to the military authorities.

Is there a touch of irony in the call for Iraqis to turn in their guns to increase the "peace and security" in the land, when the people issuing the call maintain that more guns in American civilian hands increase security? Guess the danger posed by guns varies with GPS coordinates.
