< Well, our family drives Jeeps and we love them but I have ridden in the new H2 Hummer and frankly was very impressed at least with its on road handling. >

By all means get the Hummer. Make sure that you put one of those American flags in the back window to make you look REAL patriotic. So what if a few hundred of our soldiers die every year to keep gasoline in the vehicles that you want to keep up your self-indilgent lifestyle. It's YOU that counts.

< Alternative energy sources is a complicated matter, it will be decades IMHO before the problem is solved. >

You can buy a Prius right now, and probably get your electricity from wind or renewables, depending on where you live. I pay about 1/2 cent a kWh more for wind power from Green Mountain.

< I think it ought to start with a return to Nuclear Energy for power plants so far as our basic power is concerned. >

According to the Rocky Mountain Institute, wind power is already 3 times more cost effective than nuclear, and close to par with fossil fuel plants, but it would be looking way too liberal for you or the rest of the Bushies to go that way, wouldn't it?

< In the interim we OUGHT to be drilling in Alaska instead of the trumped up charge that some mesquito infested BOG representing a miniscule portion of the area is somehow beneficial to anything other then mesquitoes. >

Why am I not surprised. If we did drill the ANWAR, it wouldn't be enough to supply the extra gas needed for the Hummers that are being bought up by self-indulgent wrong wingers. It wouldn't even contribute 1% of our current needs, but don't let logic get in your way.

Yeah people driving Hummers think they look real cool while they get 10 miles to the gallon :^) I guess it's a status symbol to pay $60 everytime you need to fill up that 32 gallon gas tank!
