Can someone (anyone) explain to me how the Fed could buy bonds in the open market...wouldn't this, essentially, create artificial demand, which would lead to the detrement of the currency (accerlerate weakness)? What would be other potential negative (or positive) side effects? How long can gambit go on? tia

Somewhere, I got the crazy notion that there are no free lunches...I think some guy named Greenspan used to write about it...

None of the guys at the final table this year was at the final table last year. Julian Gardner got knocked out around 45th or so, I don't recall anyone else even finishing in the money.

The Final 2 tables this year was a MUCH stronger field than last year, BTW...included Phil Ivey, Scotty Ngueyn, Howard Lederer, Amir Vahedi and Dan Harrington. Moneymaker had to go through the toughest players in the world to win it, I give him his props for that!
