the trusts have been collected and hoarded by adults the way kids used to collect sports cards...these are people who feel an entitlement to interest rates of several percent because that is what they NEED and therefore the market must provide that...but stretching for yield often doesn't work and when one looks at the collection of businesses that have been turned into income trusts, one shudders, these are not companies these people would have played if they were regular equity shares...
i think if i were playin' for income i'd rather try jiggling NT around for a couple dimes a trade...
