The "ignore" function is a useful substitute, though I don't like to use it too much.

I don't think I've ever used it. And don't wish to do so save in some sort of dire circumstance. And I haven't found that yet.

I tend to have a hard time with collective psychology arguments. I usually find they take off into flights of fancy, no evidence base, once they try to aggregate invidivual psychology into something collective. But every once in a while something comes along that asks for something beyond aggregated individual explanations. Perhaps this is one.

The thing about "ignore", it works a lot better if you just do it, and don't go nattering on and on about it, or post self-righteous drivel about how morally superior you are to the people you're allegedly "ignoring". My understanding is that that wouldn't be the One True Republican Way, though.
