Of course Hamas is Hamas and this would a wonder if they gave up terror but in my bones i believe that there have to be Hamas folks who feel that suicide bombings are not good for the palestian soul.

Actually, I don't see Hamas caving in. They've boxed themselves into a untenable political situation. The very heart of Hamas's ideology is militant Islam and destruction of the Jews and the state of Israel.

This is simply NOT compatible with making peace with the Jews, and would undermine their very "raison d'etre".

But that said, they are coming under extreme pressure to stop their attacks (promarily Egypt) in order to decrease the pressure and await a later opportunity to resume militant actions.

Hamas, should they accept the legitimacy of peace negotiations, will no longer have a reason for existing. Either that, or it will become the equivalent of the IRA's Sinn Fein, and try and achieve political legitimacy within the PA government, while splinter groups (which they claim they can't control) will provide the necessary "muscle" to ensure their views are not ignored.
