I agree. But it must be a horrible balancing act running the UN. If he completely alienates the US, then he has no power over us at all. It's a bit like dealing with your adult children. They STILL aren't as mature as you'd like them to be, and they aren't going to want to listen to you when you talk about morality, and caution, and they don't give you much respect. When they get themselves into trouble they whine, and want special treatment- but of course when they are getting themselves into trouble, they don't want to hear from you at all. We are a nation of semi-adult teenagers. (imo) "Old Europe" is probably more grown-up than we are. Old Europe may look jaundiced, to some people who live here, but I prefer jaundice to teenage bumbling. I don't know if either is "better"- I only know which I prefer.
