Otherwise the shorts are the herd and the herd is being directed towards a cliff.

It was the weak Soxx last week that got shorts excited. That was the area of great amount of skepticism for the continuing of this rally.
IMHO, it was basically a bear trap. Now semiconductors should be ready to lead the Nasdaq higher since the short interest in this group is somewhat more than the rest of the Nasdaq names.
