NEW YORK (Reuters) - Conglomerate Tyco International Ltd. (NYSE:TYC - news) on Monday said it intends to restate several years of financial results in connection with securities regulators' previously announced review of its filings.

Tyco, which is based in Pembroke, Bermuda, but whose U.S. headquarters are in Exeter, New Hampshire, said the effect of the restatement will reduce the company's reported results for fiscal 1998 through fiscal 2001, and increase them for fiscal 2002 and the first half of 2003.

The charges subject to the restatement mainly include $434.5 million of pre-tax charges for the quarter ended March 31, and $261.6 million of pre-tax charges recorded in the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2001, Tyco said. No new charges will be required in connection with the restatement, it said.
