Arik's cute little Lebanon war was aimed at the PLO. Remember the PLO? the guys who precipitated the Lebanese Civil war and pretty well destroyed Lebanon in the years 1975 - 1982? Go ask the Christians and Shi'a of Lebanon how well they were treated when they lived in "Fatahland", or how they felt about the PLO moving into their homes to start a war against Israel.

Besides, Israel's wars do not count as atrocities against civilians by extremists, which is the subject of discussion. We've covered the Big Three of the last sixty years: Deir Yassin, Baruch Goldstein and the Rabin assassination. You keep talking about how extremists of both sides are the same, now I'm asking you to find more examples of Jewish atrocities. I'm tired of each new Hamas bus bombing being compared to Deir Yassin, which happened in 1948.

As for the Ha'aretz report, why should I find it amusing? I have no reason to believe it was false. The headline was overblown, but that's hardly unusual. Terrorist organizations can be hit badly, loose commanders, dive for cover, then resusitate themselves months or years later, especially when they have outside reinforcements as Hamas does - its HQ in Damascus was untouched. This is true of Al Qaida too. I remember the Ha'aretz article, and the original context was speaking of Hamas on the West Bank. It would have been silly for anyone to claim that they had destroyed Hamas in Gaza when the IDF had never gone into Gaza. Several of the recent Hamas attacks have originated in Gaza as a result of Israeli loosening travel restrictions for the 'road map'.

You don't seem stupid. So why do you keep plucking things out of context and presenting them as "ironic" or "amusing", as if this were a form of argument? Flippancy is no substitute for thought.
