Whitepine,

I too forgot that natural gas and & oil are priced in $US dollars and therefore a rising loonie against the dollar would yield less loonies received for gas & oil--until you pointed it out to me herein. You are right--eventually this will have to have an effect on distributions---although if everything remained proportional--and that is a big if--the decrease in distributions to $US investors would be offset by the currency conversion increase to them.

However, I speculate that the currency conversion rate in favor of US investors of Canadian distributions has skewed the stock prices on American exchanges for the O&G trusts listed thereon which eventually will not keep yields proportional.

That aside--are you following the dialogue on the Canadian Reits and Trusts thread circa the potential forced selling by American INvestors of their CR trust shares due to the 50% residency requirement. This really impacted CR O&G share price yesterday.

Onward & Upward.

Bill
