Shawn - you are quite right concerning MARS and ... I am no longer wasting my time with her. Interesting point however that "heaven" may have only referred to the 'first heaven' and not the 'third'. Never thought about that as a possibility - will ponder that thought if you do not mind as I am leaving for a week in a couple of hours. Thanks for your angle on the whole concept in any case :-)

You two "wise" souls spend some splendid amount of time here trying to debate/decide whether it is alright with "God" of Abraham to have a few statues of some little cherubs in your churches , without being struck down with one of his wrathful thunderbolts ... or that you may lose some brownie points in the hereafter, LOL...for being so inquitous . Moses , btw Mr Donohue no more existed and was no more a real person than the greek Hercules or the bringer of light and fire to mankind Prometheus . But your belief makes this myth more real than others? That tells you much about the "truth" you possess . It's the truth of dellusion , if the truth be truely told. this discussion of having "angels & cherubs" adorning your churches , really deep and just fascinating . It is perfectly OK to rationalize these depictions as reminders and representations of the divine ...but in the case of a Buddhist or a Hindu , it is considered unholy and profane . You bury your dead and place headstones upon them they cremate them after adorning them with flowers and scented oils . In either case, the elements are returned to the elements, ashes to ashes , and dust to dust. Are there scriptures that sing the praise of such simple and plain duplicity and arrogance and pride ? It's an absolute wonder that you have such a hard time understanding even the basics of the sacrifice of Jesus at all without all these icons , and endless repitions and quoting of scriptures...ant child could remember the entire gist and body of Jesus in a week , yet you two could draw it out for years and years . Here we see Jesus speakig parables and little wise sayings that had already been said centuries upon centuries before ...wisdom gained by men who meditated on truth and steadied themselves with temperance ....and as we know now thru science , this "God of Abraham " and his lineage was just a little behind the times , when one considers now the complete overshadowing of the spans of human evolution on this planet . How may generations was it from Abraham ? Your "testament" and your "truths" were only off by some 3.90 Bil years . regards Mars PS: Over in Islam , they would be done with both of you and just imprison you for such depictions of angels and cherubs ...or kill you . I for one am very glad god gave mankind the Hindu and the Buddhist to balance both your insanities off. And the Catholic church couldn't even make a dent , for it is too easily exposed. For the "TRUE" God , loves balance & tolerance and forgiveness in his little creation called man ...for all his concocted theologies and forms of worship. So tell me one thing that Jesus said that was even the slightest bit original ? Just one will suffice ...

It is well known that the books of Moses were not written by any "Moses " at all....he was and still is a colossal "myth" . A very ingenuine bit of story-telling and he was a bit of a bloody bastard at that as well. His brother Joshua was extremely adept at genocide , killing thousands of innocent old women men & children , along with the help of your diety and his little plagues and warcry. You did want to talk about truth here ? The truth of one superstitious tribe of goathereds and sheperds that borrowed even their creation stories and the "Fllod" from the pagans? So don't let that stop you in believing in your righteous fairytale (s). If it makes you feel holy and saved more than others . Just dress your priests up in expensive robes and all that gilded pomp and ceremony ...silver and gold gilted truths and relics , that were stolen and built from the sufferings of many lands . In the name of "Jesus" of course. So sprinkle some holy water on it (and yourself as well) , obscure it with centuries of dogma and threats to the poor pagans of excommunication and usurping their rightful lands, destroying their temples and imprisoning or killing their priests ...by the millions etc ...and POOF! ----->it will make it true! Truth is a very interesting concept... ;-)

It was so much easier when you could just take these damned "sinners" out and stone them to death and throw them off cliff back in Jerusalem 2000yrs ago ? Or little old men that got caught working on the Sabbath ? Or wandering itinerant young preachers that thought they were "one with the Father " , and walked with the creator .....for that is why Jesus was crucified . For claiming that . (They would have had to crucify 10's of millions back during the 60's for this same thing , hehe) You should be more conscious of violent religious indoctrination and mass_recruitment of the lumpen youth in the underdeveloped countries for "God" , for suicide bombings, mayhem and terrorism as the real abominations , my friend , and set your priorities straight. Time for your "church" to wake up...and stop burying itself deeper in the mucky waters of flakey, superstitious , outmoded medieval doctrine. Ah , but that would require too much wisdom and faith , wouldn't it ? Better to just let yourself be dictated to and not think at all...and pride yourself piously as having "faith". Ignorance is the true abomination , and many religions still push it for "truth" today.
