Happened during WWII. 1941-45. I was presenting the attitude of some Danes towards the the resistance fighters and those that transported the Danish Jews to Sweden.

In the late 60's a number of "guest workers" were brought to Denmark to do jobs that Danes didn't want. They came from backward areas in Turkey, Yugoslavia, and Pakistan and formed the first wave of non-European immigrants. As for tolerance, I can say that there is much less tolerance today than there was in the 60's and 70's. Adopted children from Thailand, Somalia, South America, and other countries get spat upon, verbally attacked, and mobbed in school. Not often but it happens. Small shops run by immigrants get burned down, not often but it has happened. Some politicians attack whole groups of people(Muslims)in their political speeches.

My hope is that the tolerance levels of the US get exported to Denmark. That would be an improvement. 20 years ago I wouldn't have said that.

"It is very easy to cast stones, until the problems become yours to deal with as well. They said they found that out, and were much more sympathetic... "

Sympathetic about what? Race riots?, lynching?, bussing?, segregation?, ghettos, positive discrimination for whites?, positive discrimination for men?, poverty?
