Monday June 16 2003 News Release

Mr. J. Frank Callaghan reports
Godfrey Walton, PGeo, vice-president of exploration, has reported to the board of directors of International Wayside Gold Mines that the drill results for phase 2 of the 2003 exploration program have been received for the Cariboo gold project near Barkerville Historic Town in central British Columbia. The second phase drill program was designed to evaluate a portion of the Bonanza Ledge zone with eight holes; each hole was spaced 20 feet apart. The purpose of this drilling was to look at the variability of the mineralization in a part of the Bonanza Ledge, verify the grades and thickness of the zone that was predicted by the resource and mine models (see news releases 26-03 and 03-03) and gather geotechnical data for the mine planning in the vicinity of the proposed underground bulk sample. The intersections obtained by these holes were larger than both the resource and mine models predicted and therefore it is expected that the tonnage of Bonanza Ledge will increase when a new resource estimate is completed.
The results, which are some of the best intersections obtained in the drilling on the Bonanza Ledge, are shown in the attached table and on the attached map and sections. BC03-07 and BC03-08 were drilled on the same section line, 20100E. BC03-07 intersected 145.6 feet grading 0.364 ounce/ton Au and BC03-08 intersected 148.0 feet grading 0.397 ounce/ton Au. The grade and width of the mineralization is very encouraging and correlates well with the drill hole BC02-08 and 02-12 from last year (see news release 02-16 and 02-21).
BC03-09 and BC03-10 were drilled from the same section line, 20080E, which also includes drill holes BC2K-10, 11 and 29 (see news release 00-12, 00-20 and 00-34). BC03-09 intersected 142.8 feet grading 0.379 ounce/ton Au, including 81.2 feet of 0.608 ounce/ton Au. BC03-10 intersected 162.9 feet grading 0.314 ounce/ton Au, including 54.6 feet of 0.613 ounce/ton Au.
BC03-11 and BC03-12 were drilled on the same section line 20060E. BC03-11 was the narrowest intersection of the holes at 117 feet grading 0.632 ounce/ton Au, including 78 feet of 0.91 ounce/ton Au. BC03-12 was the highest grade of these eight drill holes, with 149.5 feet grading 0.810 ounce/ton Au, including 103.7 feet grading 1.135 ounces/ton Au.
BC03-13 was drilled on section line 20040E and had an intersection of 155.4 feet grading 0.112 ounce/ton Au. This drill hole intersected the lowest grades and also had the weakest alteration.
BC03-14 was drilled on section line 20120 and intersected 140.8 feet grading 0.763 ounce/ton Au, including 87 feet of 1.124 ounces/ton Au (see news release 03-07 dated June 16, 2003).
