What is the guaranteed power output 24/7 of any windmill.

No windmill is guaranteed 24/7 online. A category 5 hurricane could take out hundreds if not thousands. They want to build a farm out in the water around Cape Cod. I've seen ships where the gun mount was removed by a wave.

I wonder what a tital wave would do. It's nice when nature wrecks a place and even takes down power lines that the power plant is not also destroyed. Rebuilding with no electricity is painful.

delbie you can rant and have a hissyfit, but you have never thought out the rick and consequences of using wind for anything other than saving money during peak and some off hours based on a lucky wind.

Del, I only told you what I HAVE SEEN myself. I live in Coastal Fla. windmills would never be appropriate for us as we have these storms, they are called HURRICANES have you ever heard of them? However, we also have the GULF STREAM and it flows northward off our coast at its nearest point in all of USA, about 1/2 mile or so. Years ago we talked of UNDERWATER turbines powered by the incredible strength of the flowing gulf stream. For some reason that talk never panned out. jdn
