He made this comment a long time ago when he acknowledged that Berkshire Hathaway actually paid a 35% tax on the gain on Cap Cities. With the lowered 15% cap gains rate for individuals he might consider alternatives. But I think he likes the combination of forever holding periods and the patriotism or pride of paying lots of taxes.
