To: Skywatcher who wrote (416146 ) 6/18/2003 11:01:20 AM From: American Spirit Respond to of 769667 Everyone ought to read Hillary's book. Here's why. Turns out the right-wing cliched charges against her are a pack of lies. Hillary was the daughter of a right-ring Republican. A strict Methodist family, she was the all-American conservative girl. She worked for Goldwater. She changed and became "liberated" like most women around 1970, got educated, travelled and learned the old conservative ways put blinders on people. She shed those blinders. She and Bill were/are a very loving couple. More partners for life than romantic lovebirds (as they got older). But very strong partners. And all couples have problems. So Bill cheated. Was she a better or worse person not to divorce him? Who are we to judge? How can we judge? Who cares what her motives were? Some stats (difficult to poll because no one will admit it) say up to half married men cheat on their wives, including Republicans. So is it more Christian to forgive, or to not let the right-wing bastards break up your marriage? Maybe Hillary knew Bill was cheating all those years. If so, she had some way of dealing with it. None of us know the logic. But Hillary loves Bill and vice versa. That's clear. And Bill is an amazing man too. Coming from nothing and nowhere the way he did, while silver spoon types like GW didn't even have to work for their stations in life. The reason righies dont want us to read the book is that they're afraid they OWN lies will be exposed, not Hillary's. And that the book will show us the Clintons, despite some flaws, are amazing people who have done thois country and the world a tremendous amount of good. Clinton was also a very successful president, despite his one personal flaw. And is three anyone who doesn't have flaws? Can the right explain away Bush's alcoholism, laziness, doing nothing for people in need, sicking on the oil industry tit, championing polluters rights, going AWOl from the military? etc? PS - I am NOT for Hillary to run for president. Only the right-wing talks about that. But what an amazing woman and couple.
