I'm a bit of a history buff, and what I see is that nothing has changed in this world. There'll be more saddams and the US or whoever will always exercise their power when it suits their needs.

I agree with the notion that people should determine their own destinies, but it ain't gonna happen that way all the time. Don't forget, thirteen years of sanctions and inspections only caused the nonbaathist Iraqis more grief.

I'm not unsympathetic to what you are saying, my own family history is one... suffice it to say I only have a brother, sister and parents as relatives living today, the rest, uncles, aunts and cousins, the whole lot, died with bullets in their heads or disappeared into the soviet gulag system. A little foreign intervention, from where I originate from, would have been greatly appreciated, but was never forthcoming. Sometimes the people are too weak to forge their own way.
