dual boot

Should be easy if you want to do that. In the case of Win 98 you need to have a partition and a FAT filing system for the Win 98 partition. (assuming you only have one Hard Drive)

from your second link

This is reliable and safe, easy and painless. It causes no loss of data, and is even suggested by Microsoft!

You load up Win 98 OS first.

Then you load Win XP on the other partition. You can choose either FAT or NTFS. The installation software will guide you through the whole process.

In the end, when you boot up you will see both Win 98 and Win XP as choices for OS selection. There are various options to select either as default after so many seconds etc.

If it's just a single printer, I think checking for a XP driver first would be the best solution. Re booting every time you want to print would be a hassle.

I have loads of Win 2k software so I have a dual boot with XP. It works fine.

Thanks.. I will give it a try this weekend. This is a perfectly good Epson Photo EX, but of course they want me to buy a new printer, so will they update the driver for XP? Of course not. Have checked for a lot of work arounds, and the one I am using (fooling XP into thinking its a similar printer) is not yielding the best results. I don't use it that often, but when i do it's usually in batches.. so won't be much of an inconvenience.
I'll report back when the deed is done... unless of course my computer croaks, in which case, it'll be awhile :)

Hi,

I recently found this thread and have a question. Within the last 2 weeks, I noticed that the writing under the small blue "e" on my desk top has changed. It used to say internet explorer under it, now it says: advgm/2

Can anyone tell me why? I do have McAfee virus protection.

Thanks, Cindy
