What a stupid comparison, "read my lips, no new taxes."

You compare changing one's position based upon a different interpretation of needs as the same as lying about a specific personal act. IDIOT ALERT. IDIOT ALERT. IDIOT ALERT. Abject stupidity.

Even if I disagree with a position, suggesting that if one changes his position that that person was lying is a certain idicator of an idiot.

But bauldy you always meet my expectations.

A lie is when Clinton sent Stephenopolis out to tout the accomplishments of his first term and included "a middle class tax cut".

When challenged, Hey Stephie, we didn't get no tax cut, Stephie replied ""This President has kept the promises he MEANT to keep."

It's a fine distinction... the answer to 'is it a lie' depends on whether candidate Bush knew he was never going to carry out his campaign promise, whether he broke the promise because he changed his mind about it... or whether he never knew what policy he was going to follow when he made the promise (which also would make the promise a 'lie').
