I don't see that. I (and the people I know) buy sun equipment because PC equipment sucks big time. Linux vs Solaris doesn't enter the picture. But then I suspect I might be in the minority.

this is a business not a philosophy of life.

How come every time I hear "but it's a good business decision" it's used to justify short term thinking that often turns out *bad* for the business in the long term? Giving people what they want is often an easy short term business decision. It may also be a bad long term decision. I would have guessed that Linux wasn't a good long term strategy based upon Sun's experience with the Roadrunner.

But what do I know... I just own a little of their equipment and a little of their stock.
