Since there is nothing at all the I, personally, can do about IRaq, I have to give it unlimited scope. It's not like you or I can go back and set things right, if the current course of action proves disastrous. I hope that the Iraqi people find stability, I just don't think it's likely. Feel free to remind me if I'm wrong. I am hoping to be wrong- and I will be pleased if I am.

I was looking for a good article on the factional differences in Iraq- I didn't find one that satisfied me, but I did find this:

I totally agree with what she has to say. She has made the same analysis of the situation that I have (so it's no surprise I agree with her I guess :-)

Since Afghanistan has proved to be much more difficult to resurrect than we thought, having somone say that regime change in Iraq is an even a more difficult task should give us pause. We have not shown that we are able to institute regime change- Afghanistan, so far, has been an expensive failure. Of course the media in this country kind of ignores the whole topic- but it is covered in other parts of the world.
