The territories and the Yukon are HOT in the summer. Lotsa light, sun never goes down. Cabbages grow to enormous size, perhaps 100 pounds or more. Carrots can be used as timber to build emergency shelter. (a vegetable garden can threaten a dwelling if not kept under control by ninja-like weeding..) It affects insect life too. Mosquitoes become so numerous and aggressive that they have been known to drown out jets warming up at airports and can attain the size of a smallish song bird. (They've been mistaken for hummingbirds.) EC<:-}
