LOL! Yeah, a Pennsylvania Susquehanna Valley kid, too. I'm a heretic. ;P

There would still be high school football, just not "high school" football. Midget football and adult football clubs are popular back home, completely privately funded teams. In football country, the clubs would still bring in enough money to play, believe me. Little Leagues are another example. There is already an administrative infrastructure in place, just divorce the divisions from the school system.

The sticking point is the fields and other facilities. Don't know what the best way would be to handle that. Perhaps the schools could maintain the facilities for lease to teams. Much the same way municipalities and Little Leagues sometimes cooperate.

You live in Texas, Derek? The state that draws 50,000 to High School Football games? and you want to stop HS sports? I hope you have some good "Tar and Feather" remover available.

My thoughts exactly but I assumed Derek would not get it if I typed it. Thanks. I was trying to remember the book about Texas football based, I think, on Odessa High School
