< you don't know what oxygen combines with. In a pure oxygen environment all kinds things will ignite and burn explosively. Many material considered non flamable will burn in a pure oxygen environment. >

I know very well that oxygen combines with lots of things. You said it was the oxygen which it explodes, now you are backpeddling and talking about the other materials exploding.

< Were people ever allowed to smoke in an oxygen tent. Don't know what happened to the Appollo astronauts?? >

People aren't allowed to smoke in an oxygen tent because the cigarette is a fuel which will burn much more rapidly in the pure oxygen environment. The oxygen will not explode. People smoke all day long in a 21% concentration of oxygen. It's called our atmosphere.

I certainly do know what happened to the Appollo astronauts. All of the flammable material burned rapidly in the nearly 100% pure oxygen environment. There was NO explosion.

< What do you think you know about chemistry?? >

Apparently a lot more than you do, judging by your factually incorrect statements made here.

< What does oxygen combine with. Iron carbon hydrogen nitrogen and so many combinations. And in a pure oxygen environment it combines explosively. >

Do you even read your statements, Thomas? Are you really saying that when oxygen is surrounded by a oxygen environment it combines explosively? What is the end product, O4 ???

Del

" What does oxygen combine with. Iron carbon hydrogen nitrogen and so many combinations. And in a pure oxygen environment it combines explosively."

You're out of your element Snitch.... Suppose we had a container of pure nitrogen and then admitted pure oxygen to make the volume about 20% oxygen....what would happen? Suppose we made the mixture 90% oxygen, what would happen????

Suppose we had 100% oxygen in a platinum vessle and struck a spark, what would happen? Would the oxygen explode???
