Since I made clear that that wasn't my point, I assume you toss that in purely as an ad hominem attack.

How does America provide a moral
example to the world if we have no true standard or principles to adhere to?


Why should we feel any obligation to provide a moral example? I may be missing something, but I don't see anything in our Constitution or Declaration of Independence that says we are supposed to set a moral example for the world. Can you cite me your authority for that?

We have created unquestionably the strongest nation in the world, and yet have avoided becoming an empire like the British or Spanish or Mongol or Persian empires; we are among the freest people in the world, if not the freest, with both the benefits and costs of freedom; more citizens of other nations try to immigrate into the US than into any other country. I would say that's pretty good example setting.
