'Fiscal Conservative' + 'Social Liberal' (to use the inaccurate short-hand description of today's Press) does not equal "Berkley leftwinger"

It more accurately reflects a Libertarian's support for low and equitable taxes, small government, free markets, and personal liberty.

"Social liberal' to me does not equate to support for Socialism... or any other Big Government economic concepts. It means keeping government off of people's backs to me.

But for many 'Social Conservatives', it seems they mostly want a more intrusive federal government telling people how to live their lives.

So there are TWO MAIN dividing lines in politics:

'Economic Left' & 'Economic Right', and
'Authoritarian' vs. 'Libertarian'.

Supporting Big Government, big deficits, and increased government power over individuals does not seem very 'conservative' to me... it seems 'LIBERAL'!

You seem to agree with me on the expensing of stock options.

My comment about the financial bubble was merely to illustrate that it's larger than merely the equity markets.
