Acording to Dan Rather tonight, the latest US death in Iraq is the 45th since the war was pronounced over. The following

bayarea.com

states

The number of deaths stood at 188 Wednesday. Of the total, 128 were "hostile" incidents, and 60 were "nonhostile

So, if we assume these two numbers are from the same "official" count, adding one to the Wednesday count and subtracting 45 yields 144 for the number that were already dead when Bush made his carrier speech. (I had had 138 as the number, but that was just from memory.)

Now 45/144 = .3125. So almost a third of as many as died during the war, have already died in the less than two months since the war. And U.S troops are supposed to stay there how long? Five years, minimum?

Great!

News Fox doesn't report, and most never consider, much less decide.

Re: at least USA captured Iraqi oilfields (total success)

Not quite. Looting at the fields and sabotage to the pipeline that leads to Turkey have kept production to a minimum. Far below projections.

This may be part of the reason spot prices of crude oil remain persistently high.
