that FDR, as the old line money always thought, was actually a proto-Marxist

It is hard to figure out what he was. He is still so shrouded in glory by the Historians that the truth gets bypassed. I look upon him as a pragmatist who was willing to to try whatever his advisors wanted. And they were mainly Socialists. That was back when the elite believed that Socialism was the future for mankind.

Clean up a few things in that list and you could use it as the Democratic Platform next year. That is how far we have come since it was published. Bush and crowd are in the process of trying to restore us, in many ways, to 1932. Get rid of all the old socialist programs.

I read a line today from Bryan Gumbel that reminded me of you. He was talking about a test on his morning show, and said, "Now this test will show whither you are a racist or a liberal!"

Well John, I usually try and provide links to back up points I am making, but I had to get to an appointment and didn't have time to find one I liked. I did Google it and found the 10 planks, but I didn't provide the url because the sites that appeared on the first page of Google were from anti-tax sites. I think I copied and pasted from jerseyguy.com. Would a reference from jerseyguy.com have convinced you?

I'm trying to think of one of the famous old monied farts who accused FDR of that

Colonel McCormick of the Chicago Tribune accused FDR of being a Marxist, and progressive columnist John Flynn accused him of being a dictator...
