It's not an unusual options expiration. We're close to some strikes and we're moving sideways around them. That's not unusual.

I assume you are referring to just open interest at various strikes.

What I am getting at is the very low P/C this week. Opex is supposed to have a spike in the P/C, especially early in the week even during big down weeks.

My point is that something just does not make sense in the way it is extremely low. To me it suggest a big surge higher or maybe a big drop by the close. Roll out of puts does not seem to be happening this month, which usually accounts for the high P/C during opex in normal weeks.

My bet is a surge higher towards the close as market makers cover their shorts instead of just shorting more puts for July as there is no demand for that this month.
