Sounds like those numbers of yours are from a partisan source. Too bad or I might study them more.

It shows more people slipped into poverty, but by Bush Sr's term we had SERIOUS problems in the inner city which resulted in massive rioting. LA was almost burned down. The riot the other day may signal a return to this dangerous condition under Bush's son. When the "underclass" feel they are not being represented and cannot find work, all it takes is a spark on a hot summer day. CLinton kept the cities prosperous and fully employed. That was one of his greatest accomplishments. And he did it by giving us an economy where EVERYONE was prospering. Not just those at the top. PS - No one is arguing that RR's economy was better than Carter's. But he didn't have a oil embargo, hostage crisis and failed rescue attempt to deal with. Those were big-big downers.
